01What it is
Guided birding across Rwanda's wetland, savannah and montane forest habitats, tailored to your list.
Rwanda is unusually good for birds relative to its size, because three quite different habitats sit within a few hours of each other.
Akagera's papyrus swamps hold shoebill and papyrus gonolek. Nyungwe's forest holds a long list of Albertine Rift endemics found almost nowhere else. The lakes and wetlands in between fill in the rest.
Guides here are good, and a birding-focused itinerary is easy to build.

- Specialist birding guides should be requested in advance.
- Park entry applies where birding takes place inside a national park.
Permit costs, age limits and park regulations are set by the Rwanda Development Board and its partners and change from time to time. We confirm the current position with you in writing before anything is booked.
